Welcome to the Healthflex Blog

What have our staff been up to?

Heidi Wells and Nikki Dyer

Heidi, who some of you may know as one of our directors, and Nikki, the wife of Martin the other director, who does a lot of work behind the scenes for Healthflex, are both down to run a marathon this year. Heidi will be running the Brighton Marathon and Nikki, London. We would like to wish them both well and hope that it inspires the rest of us to achieve a similar feat. They are both running for local charities and in an effort to help their targets we will be holding a Charity Treatment Evening - please see our “Charity Treatment Evening Blog” for further details.

On a different note, or even sport, Heidi has been selected to go for trials with the England Hockey Team. This is a fantastic achievement to even be selected so well done Heidi. We wish her well although the final trial is on the same day as the Brighton Marathon….. so could be a tough day !

Heidi

Nikki

Both Heidi and Nikki are both heavily into their training schedules now….only 12 weeks to go so keep up the good work !!!

Andy Hollingsworth

Andy, as some his patients my know, is a very accomplished golfer playing off a three handicap. Shortly before Christmas, Andy, together with four team mates from his local club, qualified to play in the finals of the Daily Mail team event which was held in Spain. They made a gallant performance and came a very respectable third overall, so well done Andy. If you have any golfing queries then Andy is the man to speak to. As one of our full time Physiotherapists, he has an extensive knowledge of golfing injuries and rehabilitation programs that can get you back on the golf course ready for the nice weather in the Spring……not that it has been that bad to date!

Gill on the slopes….again!

For those of you that know Gill Onslow/Watson, she is now taking her winter sabbatical from us in Val D’Isere. Seen here performing some rather skilful looking manoeuvres on a very steep slope. We wish her well and look forward to having her back with us in the Spring.

Gill in action - I’m sure I could look that good too …………..

How to swing a golf club

Correct posture and perfect balance are the key to a sound golf swing that is able to reproduce consistent results. Ryan Harrison, competing here in a local professional event, is demonstrating this perfectly.

Ryan has been working with Martin Dyer throughout this year, alongside the rest of his team, where he has been competing on the Jamega Tour. He played very well and managed to finish 24th having only played in 12 events. He also qualified for the TP Tour Championships at Walton Heath Golf Club where he finished tied 5th and the following week, he won the TP Tour event at Blackmoor Golf Club shooting a very impressive 63.

This years event have all been preparing Ryan for the second round of the European Tour Qualifying School which he has played fantastically well to get to and will be played in La Colinas, Spain starting next week.

Martin and all his team at Healthflex would like to take this opportunity wish Ryan all the best in his quest to become a European Tour Professional.

New Orthotic Service Autumn/Winter 2011

We are pleased to announce that our resident podiatrist, Chris Webb, will now be manufacturing his own bespoke orthotics on site at our Haslemere clinic. Previously, we have used an orthotic manufacturing company in the States and whilst these orthotics were excellent, there were often time delays between assessment and orthotic provision. Fortunately now with our new in-house equipment we can offer a same day assesment/orthotic provision service. We also have the added benefit that should any minor alterations be required, these can be done, while you wait. If you would like more details about this new service please contact our reception on 01428 642577

Lizelle back at Healthflex

Lizelle Gerber has reluctantly pulled herself away from glorious South Africa to be working with us again. She has had a short break with family over the Autumn and Winter period and has now returned to the UK. She says she is delighted to be back however, seeing these lovely pictures, I think I know where I would rather be. It’s great to have her back again and Lizelle is available by appointment at our main  clinic in Haslemere.
